R.O.C.K.: A Different Kind of Therapy
By: Cheney Slocum, Celina Fontenot, and Alexis Chastain
R.O.C.K., otherwise known as the Ride On
Center for Kids, is located in Georgetown, Texas. Established in 1998,
the organization focuses on helping those that live with disabilities
through unique types of therapy. These methods include hippotherapy and
therapeutic riding. While the students gain physical benefits, such as
strength and balance, their relationship with the horse provides
emotional development and cognitive progress.
